District President Böckelühr Visits Koch-Chemie.

Exchange Between Industry and Politics

A very impressed District President of the Arnsberg administrative district left the site of chemical manufacturer Koch-Chemie in Unna on Wednesday, July 31, 2024. "We have a very successful international company here in Unna, which is an interesting employer for the region," said Heinrich Böckelühr in his conclusion.

In an entertaining visit, the medium-sized Unna-based company introduced itself and provided insights into various research facilities, such as the biological process water treatment, with which the developed cleaning chemicals are tested for the required biodegradability before being used in car washes. Another highlight was the industry first, a so-called polishing robot. The robot arm allows the medium-sized company's development team to objectively test various car polishes in order to draw scientific conclusions about formulations, raw materials and paint types. During the production tour, Böckelühr himself tried out the lifting aid at the large container filling station to see the concepts of occupational safety and ergonomics for himself.

"We are delighted to welcome Mr. Böckelühr to our site. In this context, we were able to address the challenges faced by SMEs, e.g. with regard to the shortage of skilled workers or bureaucratic hurdles at administrative offices. We are very grateful for this constructive exchange," says Jens Hummes, Chief Operating Officer of Koch-Chemie.
